This remote must be professionally programmed when received by your dealer or a local automotive locksmith (click here for Locksmith Search ). Key blank also needs to be cut.

Very impressed with this FOB
My FOB arrived quickly and was very impressive. Much nicer than I expected. I was able to get it cut at a local locksmith after calling over a dozen hardware stores who refused to cut it because I didn't buy it from them. I also had to call five locksmiths before I was able to find one that would cut it for $25.00, and three didn't return by call. So don't think it will be easy or cheap to get your key cut. However, the programming was much easier to have done as I contacted a person through Craigslist who drove to my home and completed the process in less than five minutes for $130.00. The bottom line is, I probably could have saved myself the hassle and gone to a Chevy dealer for the amount of money that this cost me.
Ordered on a Monday night and got it in the mail on Saturday along with instructions. Went to the local hardware store to get the key cut and was able to program successfully on first try.
