Try this first before replacing the entire remote.
My remote wasn't working. Some of the buttons worked and some didn't. After some Google research I found I could try just replacing the pad. I put my spare remote up several years ago because it didn't work either. I ordered 2 inner pads and now both are working. To know if it's the entire remote or just a pad needs replaced- take a screwdriver to the buttons ( remove the pad first) and if it works then simply replace the pad. Easy fix.
